When someone outside of Florida thinks of trees in Florida, you can bet they are likely to think of either palm trees or orange trees. The locals understand that palms and citrus are a small part of the unique ecosystem here.
Long needle pines are common. They grow incredibly tall and have a lifespan in the centuries. Besides the palm family and citrus family, I think that the one tree that really shouts "Florida" to me is the live oak. These things are massive! The give great shade. I've even read that they can protect a home from wind damage. Large trees, like long needle pines and live oaks, are a bit of a two edged sword though as when they fall, or drop a limb, it can be disastrous. Prevention is obviously better than recovery, but if you're in Brandon, Florida and you need your trees trimmed to keep them healthy, or if one has fallen or dropped a dangerous limb on your property, trust Mid Florida Tree Service to take proper care of your trees and minimize any damage done to your home, cars or guests!
